Of course if you want to pursue a certain area of maritime, nautical, or oceanographic knowledge beyond what we can tell you in a short encyclopedic post or a video that we can link you to; you have to read a book or attend a school. Naturally , you can find a book or a link to a specialty school right here. We provide links to Amazon for books but we and Amazon provide International book binding numbers on all books for sale, and with these a skilled librarian can usually get you most anything on an inter-library loan. It takes money of course to support our efforts and since we have no intention of charging the user we have to bring it in some how. That some how is advertising revenue and sales commissions from Amazon. We try to be as unobtrusive as possible with our advertising and linking to Amazon and we encourage you to shop Amazon through our portal whether or not you actually need something of a maritime nature, or totally unrelated household items. As an amazon portal we are entitled to link to special promotions. We did link to a truck give away very recently. However by and large our advertising and links are often simply for books or publications related to a blog post or special interest page. But we know that you our reader don't live by nautical books and videos alone, some times you need a new sports jacket, or a pack of disposable diapers, or furniture. Without making this site look like a department store we want you to know that we appreciate your using our portal for anything and everything that you may buy through Amazon. We will use the occasional "Classified Post" to alert you to special promotional offers. We will drop an occasional "classified " right in among the daily posts as we are doing now.
